How to Choose Bridesmaid Shoes

With so many things to consider when planning a wedding, one thing you might not thought about is whether or not bridesmaids’ shoes should all be matching. How are you ever going to decide? If you are completely helpless then think about: allow your dress theme be your guide.  Wedding shoes are very important and shouldn’t be overlooked.

Your bridal gown is unique. They are designed to be different from the bridesmaid’s dresses. The bride is ,of course, naturally the focus of all the wedding guests therefore the gown will be suitable designed. But bridesmaids dresses need not exactly match one another these days, either.

There should be a strong theme running through everything at the wedding.  A good idea is to have the designs pretty much the same but with a few details here and there different.  The different details on the dresses could simply be that each dress uses a differently colored ribbon.

So what all this talk of gowns when we’re supposed to be discussing shoes? Here’s the key.

For instance when deciding on the fabric of the shoes you don’t have to buy them to match the dresses completely. But they should not stick out either. Just a slight difference is fine.

When it comes to the material then satin works very well for shoes. Of course, when shopping for bridal shoes you may well only be able to find satin ones anyway.  It may well be that you decide to go for satin shoes for the bride but crepe shoes for the bridesmaids.

What color of shoes to choose?.

Dyeable shoes are an option not only for the bridal shoes, but the bridesmaids’ shoes as well. The reason they are so popular is that you might have found a style you particularly like but find that they don’t match the color of your dresses.

Let’s just say that you would like to have bridal shoes that are navy. This can look very striking under a white wedding dress. Now use the same color, but go a shade or two lighter for the bridesmaids’ shoes. The same, but different. The focus remains on you, but the bridesmaids are coordinated.

Now that you have decided what you are buying for bridal and bridesmaid shoes, remember that the groomsmen has to wear a pair of shoes too:  Groomsmen Shoes
