More and more women are looking to enhance their appearance by engaging in hair extensions. There are kinds of extensions that can be used; human hair, virgin hair and synthetic hair. There are all sorts of ways of getting your new look. You can go to a stylist that you trust, or you can perform this at home with a home kit. Either way, they work and can make your hair fuller, longer and enhance color without harmful chemical. Here’s your way to look like your favorite star; or at least have the same hair style.

Three are ten top reasons why women choose to use extensions for their personal appearance. Thin haired people want thick hair. Women want volume rather than straight straggly hair that is limp. Women feel that fuller hair is sexier, and add to self esteem. If someone made the mistake of cutting their hair too short at their last visit and wants to temporarily extend their hair until they can gradually grow their own hair to the length they desire; they miss their long hair. Need to control a medical problem, there are several medical conditions that woman can loose their hair and even become bald. A woman may want longer hair for a special occasion that they may place in a stylish up do for the evening. Woman always wants to feel and look younger and longer hair provides that for them. They simply just want a change in hair style, and some just want to please a spouse.

There are a few different ways a woman can get extensions put in her hair. She can make a visit to the salon and get a professional to put them in or simply buy an extension kit and do it herself. The extensions can be either a fusion or a hair clip. Another factor of extensions to consider is the type of hair wanted. The choices are normally virgin hair, human hair, or synthetic hair. Hair extensions are attached by using weaves, glue, or cold fusion. Weaves are generally sown onto the natural hair. Gluing the extensions to the hair is one of the most common ways to attach hair extensions, also known as cold fusion. With this type of attachment, the hair appears to grow with the real hair.

Hair extensions can really increase the self esteem of a woman. The more beautiful a woman feels, the more her self esteem increases. Women that have lost their hair because of a medical treatment need to get the extra boost that beautiful hair can give them. Extensions can add up to 30 inches to a womans hair, the average request being around 18 inches. Depending on the money the lady is willing to spend, any lenth is virtually obtainainable. A woman considering hair extensions should research her local beauty salons for a professional.

The best way to apply a hair extension is to use a hot fusion process done only by licensed professionals. Rarely do they use synthetic hair as these do not provide better quality. Human hair, especially those that are pre tipped with keratin bonds provide a much better option.

The cost of going to a stylist can run a pretty penny. Anywhere from $750.00 to $3,000.00 depending on what you want. Home kits run $10.00 to $25.00, but on average at a decent salon the average price is $265.00 to $399.00. It sounds like a lot of money; however, the extension can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. Just keep in mind; you get what you pay for.

Women all have different reasons as to why they want extensions; whether it is for personal beauty or a medical reason. Price range and quality varies. Human hair is the best; it does not shrivel with heat and thus lasts longer. Besides, if you have a good stylist they can usually work magic.
